Terms of service
The rules for using TetherMC, in the plainest language we can manage.
Last updated 14 March 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and TetherMC. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.
The short version: use only accounts you own, follow the rules of the servers you connect to and the Minecraft EULA, do not use TetherMC to break, exploit, or evade anything, and pay for the plan you are on.
1. What TetherMC does
TetherMC keeps Minecraft game sessions open on your behalf. You link a Minecraft account you own, describe a server, and we run a client session on our infrastructure that stays connected, performs the idle actions you configure, and reports what it sees back to your dashboard.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Mojang, Microsoft, or any server operator.
2. Accounts you may connect
You may only link Minecraft accounts that you own and are entitled to use. Linking an account belonging to someone else — bought, shared, borrowed, or obtained any other way — is a breach of these terms, and we will terminate the account if we find it.
You are responsible for everything your sessions do. That includes chat your macros send and commands your scheduler runs.
3. Server rules and the Minecraft EULA
Your use of Minecraft is governed by Mojang and Microsoft’s own terms, including the Minecraft End User Licence Agreement. Nothing in these terms overrides them.
Separately, every server sets its own rules. Many prohibit AFK automation, unattended clients, or multiple accounts per person; some allow them explicitly. It is your responsibility to read the rules of each server you connect to and to stop using TetherMC on servers that do not permit it.
We cannot tell you whether a particular server allows this, and we do not promise that your account will not be kicked, banned, or otherwise acted on. Consequences imposed by a server operator are between you and that operator.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use TetherMC to do any of the following.
- Break the rules of a server, or evade a ban, mute, or other moderation action.
- Automate combat, griefing, duplication, or the exploitation of a bug in a server or the game.
- Interfere with a server’s availability, including deliberately reconnecting to a server that is refusing connections.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or spam other players through chat or commands.
- Interact with anti-bot or CAPTCHA systems operated by anyone other than us. Our CAPTCHA pipeline only handles challenges our own systems generate.
- Resell, sublicense, or share your TetherMC account with other people.
- Attack, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to TetherMC itself, or to other customers’ data.
5. What we will do about abuse
We may suspend an account, disable a specific connection, or terminate service if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken, if a server operator reports abuse originating from your sessions, or if continued operation would put our infrastructure or other customers at risk.
Where the situation allows it we will tell you what happened and why. Suspension stops your sessions immediately; termination also removes your stored credentials.
6. Plans, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, at the price shown at checkout. Plan limits — how many accounts you can link, how many sessions can run at once, how long logs are kept — are enforced by our API for every request and are listed on the pricing page.
You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan continues to work until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial periods.
If a payment fails we will retry it and mark the plan past due. Sessions may be stopped while an account is past due.
7. Availability
We work to keep TetherMC running, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee or service credits. Maintenance, upstream outages, and problems at the servers you connect to will all cause interruptions.
Our workers are the only place your sessions run. If a worker is drained or restarted, sessions are reconnected according to the policy on each connection.
8. Your data
How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy. In short: we store the minimum needed to run your sessions, we encrypt OAuth refresh tokens at rest, we never accept or store a Microsoft password, and you can export or delete your data from Settings.
9. Liability
TetherMC is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost in-game items, progress, ranks, currency, or accounts; for actions taken by a server operator; or for indirect or consequential loss.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
Questions about these terms can go to support@tethermc.local.
